Shelter is an adhesive visco-elastomeric material (like memory foam) designed to be used on bicycle frames in order to protect them from abrasions and rock strikes. With its 50 layers of energy-absorbing netting and an optimized density, Shelter is a light weight, durable way to protect down tubes, chainstays, or any other part of the frame. What makes Shelter different than traditional abrasion resistant materials is its ability to absorb and dissipate the force of impacts, while still being only slightly thicker than traditional frame protection

Comments about Effetto Mariposa Shelter Downtube Adhesive 2 Pack:
I use this item on my Rigid Carbon 1x11 bike. Seams as if these 1x11 allow the handlebars to spin around into the frame since there are less cables. So I installed the plastic strip right were the brake lever would impact the top tube. I also but it were the brake cable was rubbing the frame. I wasted the first piece, thankfully it came with two. Make sure to take extra time to make sure your measurements are correct.
