Gear up for a muddy cyclocross season with the Shimano CX-75 disc brakes. Disc brakes are much more powerful than the traditional cantilever brakes, and perform even when mother- nature takes a turn for the worst. The CX-75 calipers are extremely compact to stay protected from damage. Weighing in at 159 grams, even the most weight conscious rider will be able to enjoy the immense stopping power of the Shimano CX-75 disc brakes.

Comments about Shimano CX-75 Disc Brake Caliper:
I installed these brakes on my cyclocross bike after I'd given up with a bunch of warping/truing issues on my Avid BB7 setups. Admittedly, the BB7's weren't that bad, they just really weren't that great. And again to be fair, I have a super flexy Ti fork that was compounding the issue. (In part which I helped via some DT Swiss RWS skewers, if you know, you know!) Anyway, for those of you comparing the two (probably about everyone), I found the CX-75 superior. It's easy to bolt on. Adjusting the cable took some trial and error to get just the right lever throw (on my setup with both bar and STI levers). The stopping power is excellent and the finish is far superior to the BB7's as that's what Shimano can provides and few companies can follow. I've been able to get the braking just a bit tighter without any rub from the disk. The sole complaint is the adjustability which is a tiny bit tedious taking two different size allen keys. I'm sure the engineers had good reason to make it this way but I wish they hadn't. I have found that the disc performance on the aluminum framed/with outer disk Shimano rotors is a heck of a lot better than other discs I've tried. The rigidity helps in braking performance, keeping the outer disk true and in cooling. Have fun fellows of the velo!
