I love these things
Finally, some higher end shoes that fit, don't hurt my feet, or feel like ski boots. I love these things. They may not be the prettiest, but who cares.

I originally bought a pair of size 44 for my size 10 feet but they ended up being too narrow (the length was fine). My feet aren't super wide but they're a little wide and the 44s weren't roomy enough in the toe box for my feet. I exchanged them for a 45 and the fit is wonderful. I have wiggle room in the toe box, the width is there, and the midfoot and heel fit like they should.

I love the soft rubber bottoms on these. they are very walkable and where I have my cleats positioned, they don't strike the ground on smooth surfaces. The construction is very robust, I love the armored toe. The speed laces and ratchet strap are also well designed. I wear my shoes pretty loose because tight shoes tend to screw my feet up. Even with the shoes on the loose side, I don't notice any heel lift and my foot isn't sliding around at all in the shoe. The padded ankle bone area is nice because occasionally I'll whack my ankle on my frame during aggressive riding.

The only possible negative I can see with these shoes is that they may be hot in the mid summer with the sun baking down on the black color. Where I live, the sun is very intense and it can turn your shoes into ovens. I'd kind of like a light colored option to prevent that. I can say that the ventilation in the toe is functional and I do notice cooling air coming into the shoe at higher speeds.

I hope these last a long time because I have a hard time finding bike shoes that my feet like. I'm considering buying another pair as a spare.

Exactly the shoe I needed
great shoe for serious riding, but not a shoe that is meant for a one hour race. Finally someone understands we are not all racers, and this shoe is for us.

PROS: Light weight, Ridgid

CONS: Could Use Half Sizing

Very Nice Shoes
These shoes are great! They're really stiff (the sole) and still very comfortable to wear in hike-a-bike situations. They grip really well to just about any surface and at steep inclines. They are nicely protected by armor and feel like they'll hold up to the test of time. They're a little narrow in the toe box, but still not uncomfortable to wear. I really like them. Period. There's a bunch of reviews stating how the grip on the soles wears out quickly and starts falling off even, but after several rides, mine are still in great shape. Time will tell. I'd give them 5 stars if they were just a bit wider in the toe box; other than that I really , really like them.

They fit well. Happy with them so far.
I'm replacing approx 10 year old Shimano shoes that are just shot. Was very pleased with the first pair so I went for them again. If these last as long as the others that would be great.

I have a narrow foot and these fit great. I think they come in a wide as well. I like the tie system, but trying to find the sweet spot without cutting the circulation off.

I also have high arches so a custom footbed would help.

The rubber bottoms are great for hiking across those loose and rocky sections.

Comfortable, stiff and priced so right
I've tested several pairs of off road riding shoes and finally stuck with having some Sidi Drakos as my only riding shoe. Wanted an alternative "just in case" shoe, the price was right on these and they come with a carbon plate for stiffness so I decided to give them a try. So glad I did! I am a stickler for shoe stiffness when riding clipless and I felt no difference in that regard between these and my Drako shoes - that's saying a lot! These run a little big and have more room in the toe box so I would recommend going down a size if you are unsure. These are not best Summer shoes as they do not ventilate as well as some others, but besides that they are worth every penny (with the current sale price, that is not many pennies either) !!

Great shoes!
These shoes are very comfortable and well made. The laces under the Velcro are easy to tighten and didn't seem to loosen on my rides. They are pretty stiff as well. I wear a size 10 US and the 44 fit me perfect.

Another great Shimano product! Under the Velcro strap, are speed laces that make them easily adjustable, the strap then covers the laces. The sole is stiff; but still comfortable to walk in. They also protect your ankle from contact with the frame.

According to Shimano's web site, these come in wide. Where can I buy them. I need wide! It is THE most important feature of any shoe I buy.
