Insanely good upgrade from v-brakes, although any disc brake would be! However the real testament to these is, out of all the hydraulic brakes my friends ride from the competition, they all want a set of these! Great purchase and I will run them until they stop making replacement pads!

The best brakes for the money. They are easy to install because they are a direct swap for your Hayes brakes, the adapters are identical. Bombed down whistler the first day I put them on the bike, only had a 6" rotor (hayes steel rotor) with the SLX in the back and a terrible Hayes 9 xc brake in the front and I had no problem stopping.

I upgraded to these from Juicy 3s, and these are so much better than my Juicys. I love that I can stop with just one finger. I paired them with the Shimano RT76 rotors and I have about 200 miles on them thus far. The brakes have a very firm grip and are super easy to setup. I like that they come pre-bled so I can start using them the moment I put them on my bike. Unless you need/want the adjustments that the new XT brakes offer, these are a steal for the price.
My dad has the old Shimano XT (M775) brakes on his bike and these are definitely more powerful. Now he is the jealous one.
