I have the short cage and after going back and forth between DA and Ultegra for the weight penalty of roughly 23grams I felt very confident the Ultegra was the right choice....over 4000 miles never has any problems with performance would buy again in a heartbeat.

This replaced another Ultegra with 30,000+ miles of hard use. Its pins had enough wear that it no longer shifted well. Ultegra is the sweet spot of value and performance and I expect to get another 30k miles out of this one. The long cage works well with my triple crank and 11-23 cassette. Tip: use Park's DAG-2 derailleur alignment gauge while the derailleur is off the bike to ensure peak shifting performance.

I've always like Shimano more so for road components, and this reinforces that. I upgrade a Sram 9-speed group to Ultegra 10 speed and love the performance and shifting of the shimano parts. The price is great and the ease of setup was nice too.
