Shimano Ultegra 6800 11-Speed is one of the most anticipated groupos of the season. With trickle down from Dura-Ace 9000, what’s not to love? This race inspired group is super fast, reliable, and above all… smooth. The 6800 front derailleur have received a revised actuation ratio which means that it’ll be easier to shift up the to the big ring and faster. In addition, a new support bolt has been added for added support on for the braze on edition.

Comments about Shimano Ultegra 6800 Front Derailleur:
If you've ever interacted with me on a bike level, you probably realized moderately quickly that I only have loyalty to brands as long as they earn it. I have long loved the lifelong reliability of my Shimano drivetrains, but I personally did not love the feel of the shifts. This is very much a preference, and not a fact. However, it was this that had me make the brand switch not too many years back.
Well, Shimano may have just swung my opinions back with the new 105, Ultegra, and Dura Ace 11-spd groups. The new groups shift so incredibly fast that I was stunned. I am a fan of the quick precision shifting of Di2, but when I jumped on the new Ultegra group I felt that it may be equally fast, if not faster.
The front derailleur blew me away the most. There was never a hesitation as I jumped from one ring to the other. It felt instantaneous.
I will probably always buy the Ultegra group from Shimano because it carries so many of the great qualities of Dura-Ace without the price tag. For me it's the perfect go-to group unless you need the absolute top-of-the-line.
My only gripe with the derailleur is that there is a bit more finesse required to get it dialed in, but once there it's next to perfect.
