Reasonably priced touring hub
Reasonably priced rear hub for for loaded touring. It can be disassembled, cleaned, and regreased, but won't last forever. However, for the price and reliability it's a good deal. The high flanges help make a stronger build, I use them for loaded touring and it has worked well for me. I have dented rims in potholes, but so far been fortunate with this particular hub carrying 60-70 loads for hundreds of miles before servicing the hub. I haven't had any trouble with the cones coming out of adjustment.

I like to lace them so that the trailing/pulling spokes are heads in. That gives a little wider basis for the disc brakes and the chain to pull against. I did have one wheel built for me and they laced them the other way, It did okay, but I only got about 5-6K miles on that wheel before I had to replace the rim. The hub is still going strong.

Some people have reported that even the new ones can be light on the grease, so servicing a new one isn't a bad thing to do before you head out on a tour. You can spend a lot more, but you don't have to. If it gets wrecked, then just build another one. I keep two rear wheels built on this hub. One is on my touring bike, and the other is ready to ship if I hit a deep pot hole or get tacoed by someone when I am touring.

Great Entry Level Hub!
I had my previous M756 for 4 years without a single service. Self service on this product is a breeze with the correct 17mm and 18mm cone wrenches with a tube a grease! Even though this hub has a poor engagement angle, the hub provides me with enough durability to keep the pedals cranking!

Good inexpensive Hub
I have a Trek Superfly and ride a mix of XC trails. After 5 years of riding my back wheel got bent and original shimano dero hub went bad. I am a big guy, with gear I am around 250 lb, so I went with Stans No Tub Flow 36 hole rim and a Shimano XT hub, and Hutchson Python 2 tubeless tire. A couple rides in and everything is great.

PROS: Quite, Inexpensive

CONS: Heavy

Will this hub fit a 26" wheel?
Tommy on Feb 8, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The critical specs to make sure this hub will work for you are:
1) Make sure the hub has holes for the same number of spokes as your rim does. This hub is available in either 32 -hole (a little lighter, but a little less strong) or 36-hole (a little stronger, but heavier).
2) Make sure that the hub spacing (how wide it is) is the same as your bike frame's rear dropouts (where the hub slides in to the bike frame). This hub is 135mm.

Will this fit a 8 speed cassette and if so what do I need for it to fit?
A shopper on Jan 29, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I used it on a 9 speed cassette and it worked fine not sure about a 8 speed cassette but you can call Jensen's technical support and sometimes they can answer questions right away. I bought a new rim Hub and Spokes and took it to a local bike shop and had them put it together for $25
What is the axle size? 9 or 10mm?
A shopper on Apr 28, 2017
BEST ANSWER: It's the traditional standard for rear hubs, which I believe is 10mm. 9 mm is only used for front hubs.
How many points of engagement does this hub have?
David on Apr 14, 2017
Will this hub fit the Shimano 11-Speed CS-M7000 SLX Cassette ?
David on Sep 19, 2016
BEST ANSWER: No, the cassette body is not wide enough. You need an 11-speed hub.
Will these work with 105 5800 11 speed rear cassette? If not, what 135mm wide hub do you recommend? This is for a road touring frame with 135mm rear spacing.
slick on Jul 29, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The M756A is a standard Mtn bike hub. BUT it is for 9 speed cassette. The 135mm spacing is a standard spacing for hubs with a QR. Look for an 11 speed mtn bike hub. In many cases a 11 speed hub can support the use of a 9 speed cassette using spacers but a 9 speed hub cannot support an 11 speed cassette because the free hub part of the hub is not wide enough.
