Shimano XTR FC-M9020 Trail 1x Crankset

Since their introduction many year ago, Shimano XTR cranks have been the best cranks you can put on a mountain bike. Extremely strong, remarkably lightweight, and stiffer than a straight shot of whiskey €“ Shimano XTR M9000 cranks also feature the most advanced mountain bike chainrings ever produced. The rings are constructed using a sensible combination of titanium, carbon and aluminum to provide unprecedented strength while keeping overall weight to a minimum. The arm construction exemplifies the level of craftsmanship that's put into an XTR crankset, utilizing a 3D hollow bonded structure to further reduce weight and increase stiffness. The Shimano XTR FC-M9020 Trail crankset features a wide Q-Factor for a more comfortable pedal stroke.

XTR performance with a fragile finish
Performance, design and weight are outstanding and what you would expect from XTR level components. Easily a 5 star rating if it were not for the finish. The cranks look awsome out of the box but after one ride will be scratched right across the XTR logo. Just look at these sideways and they scratch! Shimano should have included anti abraision tape. Do yourself a favor, purchase and install some crank skins before your first ride.

PROS: Easy To Install, Attractive Design, Lightweight

CONS: Poor Scratch Resistance

Light weight and attractive
I love XTR for its range of sizes, Q-factors, and configurations. This 'standard' (168m) width fit perfectly even in my boost designed frame, allowing for better 1x chainline and less knee strain. And no need for silly boots to protect the ends of the arms - get near carbon weight with legendary Shimano durability. I've been abusing an older set of 980s for many years and have no concerns about the longevity of these 9020s.

What more can you say?
What more can I say, proven over and over. It's like the Rolex of bicycle cranks. Light, stiff, durable, beautiful, versatile. Many option on chain rings. If I had one complaint, it would be the xtr logo gets scuffed up easily. I could careless, I know it's a xtr even with the scuffed up logo.

Beautifully crafted an amazing looks, Super light weight. This was my first ever shimano build and a shimano customer for life. Highly recommend this product to anybody looking to upgrade their crankset or custom build.

What is BCD distance on this product?

BEST ANSWER: The BCD on this crank is 96mm, however it will not fit a standard chainring because it has a proprietary BCD only for Shimano chainrings.

Will this work with a BB30 bottom bracket?

BEST ANSWER: This crankset has a 24mm spindle, so not directly. You will need a BB30 to Shimano adaptor to run these cranks on a BB30 frame.
I have Ibis HD3 SLX built with SLX crank set. Please give me the linkk to XTR/XT crank set that i can upgrade to?. It's 1X drivetrain, thanks

BEST ANSWER: No bottom bracket is included with these cranks.

BEST ANSWER: The answer is: it depends. While this crankset is not meant to be boost compatible, it may work on some bikes. You will not have a boost compatible chainring because it will sit inboard 3mm from the recommended boost chainline.
The bigger issue may be contact of the chainring or crankarm with your frameset. I have one on my Tallboy3 and I prefer the inboard chainline because I ride mostly in the larger cogs but the crankarm can hit the chainstay protector once in a while. This is obviously not ideal but not the end of the world since I have Race Face crankboots on it and it contacts the plastic chainstay protector. I have the same crankset on my Kona Honzo CR and it clears easily.
I suggest doing some research on your particular frameset first. There is also an XT crankset available in boost.
Can this these cranks be used to build a 3-ring crankset?

BEST ANSWER: They can, but you require a chainring set and different chainring mounting bolts and nuts.
I have a shimano press fit bb will it work for these cranks?

BEST ANSWER: Yes it should fit with any Shimano PF BB that is the standard 24mm spindle size. In other words as long as it is not a PF30 style bottom bracket. I've run the Shimano BB92 and BB94 in my bikes with these cranks in my PF92 bottom bracket. Hope this helps.
