Shimano SLX M675 Disc Brake

Coming to a stop is much harder than it sounds, especially when you’re bombing down a run at 30 miles an hour. The Shimano M675 brakes provide ample stopping power to bring you to a complete hault. The hydraulic disc brakes feature Ice technology. Heat from friction can cause rapid temperature increases and cause brake fade. Ice technology allows heat to dissipate quickly to keep braking even. With the decrease in temperature brake pad life is also prolonged.

One way bleeding means you get back on the dirt faster. It is much faster and cleaner than competing brake bleeding systems.

  • Intended for Mountain Biking/ Cross Country/ Enduro Riding
  • One Way Bleeding
  • Ice Technology
  • I-Spec B mount
  • Adoption of Ceramic Piston
  • Hose Length: Front - 1000mm / Rear - 1700mm
Rotors are not included.

Looks nice on my remedy 7, not as touchy as my avid elixir 3s which is a good thing. They have a good range of braking instead of all or none. Did have to cut the line but bleeding was simple with the shimano funnel and stopper. Plan on getting another set for my front wheel.

Comments about Shimano SLX BR-M675 Disc Brake:

These brakes are incredible. I upgraded from a set of 2013 Avid Elixir 1's which made ridiculous amounts of noise and just weren't adequate for intense trail riding. These bolted right up to the avid 180mm front and 160mm rear rotors and brackets with no problems. The difference is night and day and my confidence has increased 2 fold. The modulation is great and minimal effort on the levers are required. This is without a doubt the best upgrade to my bike so far and at under 90 each its a no brainer.

Comments about Shimano SLX BR-M675 Disc Brake:

I have not been able to test them out, but my first impression is a good one. High quality build. Very easy to install in place of old brakes. Cutting the brake line to proper length (they come longer than you need) was a painless process. I really like how easy it is to take the pads in and out of the caliper. The levers feel good, and are easy to adjust the reach. Overall, I am very happy with these brakes.

Comments about Shimano SLX BR-M675 Disc Brake:

I upgraded from Alivio to SLX. I was using different fingers for the previous brakes and had to adjust to using a single finger. The brakes are easier to use, very reliable, and my ride quality has also improved. I've demoed a few bikes with XT setups. XT is great, but I didn't really notice a big difference between XT and SLX. For the money, you can't beat it.

Comments about Shimano SLX BR-M675 Disc Brake:

Great brakes that were easy to install. The slx brakes are a good upgrade to my older deore brakes. They defiantly work as they are supposed to. They don't have as many bells an whisles as some of the more expensive brakes, but do have a lever reach adjust which I love.

Comments about Shimano SLX BR-M675 Disc Brake:

This is an awesome set of brakes. Coming front a basic set of Hayes hydraulics this SLX set is leaps and bounds better. The stopping power is awesome, the lever feel is also good.

As far as installation goes, you will probably need to trim the brakes hose. No big deal. The simplest way to do this is to take the pads out, and give the lever a couple of squeezes so that the pistons poke out a little. Then take off hose at the lever, trim it where you want to, and put in the supplied barb and olive. Then once you attached the house, open up the big fill port on top of lever and spread the pistons apart using a tire lever, some fluid will ooze out. Bam, done. Now you are ready to ride your awesome set of quiet and powerful Shimano brakes.

Comments about Shimano SLX BR-M675 Disc Brake:

I used this rear shimano SLX to upgrade from my old Avid Elixirs. They were 100% out if the box compatible with my 185mm avid rotors. No special mount adapters needed. Just dump the avid washers and only use the bolts/washers that ship with this brake. My bike stops like a champ now with no weird squabble noise.

Also, don't forget to get zip ties if your cable is externally mounted. Brakes do not ship with those.

Replaced Magura's; wanted XT, but out of stock; in the end, not much difference except for disc alignment feature. Responsive, and supposed to be durable. Good brake for the money. CALL to make sure you get the right adapters. I did, and was well worth the time.
