Shimano XT M785 Race Wheelset

The Shimano M785 Race wheels are a superb value. They’re light, fast, stiff and tubeless! Upgrading wheels on your mountain bike may just be the most important upgrade of all. The lower the rotational weight, the easier it is to pedal. Upgrade to the Shimano WH-M785 and you’ll instantly drop the weight of the tubes. The M785 wheels have the same rigidity as prior years but at a reduced weight. The Shimano Deore M785 wheels are compatible with 8, 9, and 10 speed cassettes. The quick engaging hub means every pedal stroke goes towards forward propulsion. It’s the perfect cross country wheelset, and won’t leave your wallet gasping for air.

  • Wheel Size: 26”
  • Intended Use: Cross Country
  • Tubeless
  • Center lock mount for rotors
  • Weight: 1655 grams (claimed weight)
  • Includes lock- ring

Review of Shimano XT M785 Wheelset

By Tom

from Berkeley, CA

About Me Avid Cyclist

Verified Reviewer

Pros

  • Durable
  • Tough

Cons

  • Freehub Failed Early
  • Proprietary Hardware
  • Rear Hub A Bit Rough

Best Uses

  • Cross Country
  • Light freeride
  • Mountain Biking

Comments about Shimano XT M785 Wheelset:

All in all a good dependable wheelset. Replacing spokes is kind of a pain, needing a special spoke wrench, nipples (including a threaded insert in the hub), and spokes, but is easy once those items are procured.
