These work great for preventing pedal tattoo while beginning mtn biking or learning to use clips while mtn biking. I used these when i was just beginning and they prevented a lot of pain. I would not recommend these for downhill or any dangerous mtn biking activities as they are flexible plastic inserts inside neoprene. They will also make your legs sweat like crazy

Excellent buy! This 'soft' protection pad provides excellent protection from all sorts.... scrapes, scratches, falls, crashes, etc... Flat pedal metal studs eating into your shins? - No more with this baby. Saved me many scars on my shins and provides protection for your calves as well from scratches, etc. A great buy! If I intend to ride anything other than XC, I make sure I wear these.

The velcro for the straps to tighten can be bigger a bit. Otherwise it does not tally with the youth size chart at all..

If I only wear light padding for xc or cardio I always wear these as I don't even notice they're on and even if they save one pedal strike it is well worth it.

These are amazing. They fit perfectly and I swear by them. My shins are still free of any scars. I also have the same veggie type for knees and elbows. All three work great and I do not ride without them. Better safe then sorry. I fell last week and got right back up without a scratch. My knee pads had marks so I know I would have taken off some skin otherwise.
