I love these tubes. These were for my wife....but I also run them in my 29r. The other day I went through a thorn grove. Pulled out the long spines and watched in horror as the slime and air poured out of my front and rear tires. Aaaagggghhh moment. But then....the slime hardened, the leaking stopped, if any pressure escaped it was minimal. Ridden over a hundred off road miles this week alone on the same tubes. After struggling to put a tube in my buddies tubeless setup at my house (thank God cause we broke all of the tire levers before quitting) I'm sold on slime tubes. Now I run them in my burley and even threw slime in the Bob stroller ( BTW...if you are a new Mom/Dad, the Bob is a no brainier...buy it. Best baby money I ever spent). Anyway...you get it....these rule. And bring a spare tube in your camelback instead of patching. Do that when you get home and enjoy the ride!

If I could give these a rating of 'zero', I would. After putting bottled Slime in my tubes, I was out on the trail bike, got a flat, and was able to get home. I was happy untill I tried to patch it. What a major mess!. The inside of the tire was full of stuff. The tube was so slippery that I had to apply three different patches to finally get one to stick. (Yes, I cleaned the tube completely before each patch.) The slime filled the valve and made a mess in my pump. Then the slime dried in the valve so that now it always leaks. If you have some air in the tire/tube that you want to vent, the slime comes out and gets all over the rim; that does not help the brakes work well at all! Also, I bought my wife two Slime tubes for her road bike. She had been having flats and is not comfortable fixing them. (No comments about this, please.) So I figured that Slime might save her being stranded. The very first day out, she flatted. And the hole was not even close to the 1/8 inch maximum claimed by the manufacturer. Again, I had a very difficult time getting a patch to stick. Two days later, we went out for a road ride. Her tire was flat before we started, even though I had pumped it the night before. The problem: leaky valve from the slime. I have now thrown both Slime tubes in the trash after less than 3 months' use on her road bike. I still have the slimed tubes in my trail bike, but I no longer trust them to get me home.Carry an extra tube rather than trust slime. You'll save time and money.

Comments about Slime Inner Tube - Presta:

I wish I didn't have to worry about thorn flats but I do. What a pain. Slime tubes are the best solution, but I wouldn't call them ideal. They can run out of slime, so you have to carry an extra tube. I replace them about every 6 months because that is about how long they last. But it is for the joy of off rode riding, so it is good. I wish there was a better alternative, though.

Comments about Slime Inner Tube - Presta:

I haven't had a puncture with these yet on my hybrid so they seem to be doing the job. You have to take care when you deflate these that the valve is in the 12 oclock position and you use a tissue on the valve, otherwise you'll get goo jetting out of the valve. As you'd expect these are heavy as all get out. It might be better to try a tire liner instead.

I like the idea of not having to patch or change a tube out while in the middle of the woods, but even the most minor thorn punctures just leak out the slime and don't seal up, so I find myself patching and/or changing tubes in the woods.....

Comments about Slime Inner Tube - Presta:

I've tried these slime tubes several times on both road and mountain bikes, and I've consistently run into quality problems with the tubes themselves. Recently I was on a long road descent and my front tire got pretty hot, and the Slime tube separated at a seam and blew out. I think a typical non-Slime tube would not have failed this way. On my mountain bike I've had several Slime tubes fail where the valve stem meets the tube. Again, non-Slime tubes have not failed on that wheel. Finally, the green slime itself is not very effective. I've had many cases where I did get a puncture and the slime didn't seem to help. It helps with slow leaks from pinhole thorn punctures, but nothing larger.

I've had to repair or replace 3 tubes this winter due to punctures, so these tubes save my cold fingers and a lot of aggravation. While slightly heavier, there isn't a noticeable weight difference on the bike. My tube set of wheels is about the same weight as my tubeless set with Stan's inside.
