Smith Forefront Helmet

This new all-mountain helmet by Smith is truly on the Forefront of bicycle helmet technology. Through use of Smith’s AEROCORE construction the Forefront helmet implements their patented Koroyd material which offers better impact absorption and ventilation, as well as being significantly lighter weight then your traditional ESP helmet. Koroyd are honeycomb-like structures comprised of thousands of co-polymer tubes that have been thermally welded together, forming a lightweight impact material that also breathes better than EPS or foam. Smith’s Vaporfit retention system ensures a comfortable fit; once the height on each of the straps are dialed in to fit your head properly, simply use the rotating dial at the back of the helmet to micro-adjust the fit to get it just right. The antimicrobial X-Static performance lining eliminates static and odors, as well as helps regulate temperatures, keeping you fresher than daisies and cooler than cucumbers.

  • Ventilated protection featuring patented Koroyd material

Comments about Smith Forefront Helmet:

Nice looking and fitting helmet. My only gripe is that it is way more expensive than comparable helents. I got mine in safety orange, so hopefully I won't get shot at by hunters...

          Comments about Smith Forefront Helmet:

I am a bit of a helmet buff. I own way too many helmets but I just love to try them all. By far the forefront is one of my favorites. The fit of this helmet along with how incredibly light it is makes this helmet awesome. The fit with my Smith glasses is perfect (I would expect so) and the storage location is rad! Yea this helmet doesn't ventilate the best but I will say it breaths better than my TLD A1 and Bell Super. The retention system is great too since it doesn't require two hands to operate. Keep in mind you have to buy the GoPro/light mount separate but it makes mounting lights for night riding a breeze!

          Comments about Smith Forefront Helmet:

Ah, the Forefront. When I first sampled the Sun Valley-born lid at Outerbike in the fall of 2013, I immediately tried to hand my credit card to the fine folks at the Smith tent, to which I was scoffed at... "SPRING."

Perhaps you're a touch off in the head, like me. Maybe you ride around on a day-glo bike with accessories and gear to match, as loud and as proud as possible. Maybe you like unique aesthetics and pretending you're shredding Captain Ahab on a TRON bike. Or maybe you like unique styling, convenient features (goggle strap holder, sunglasses slot, and camera mount, anyone?), great ventilation, and the protective benefits of McDonald's straws bunched tightly together.

The fortunate reality is that the Smith Forefront is the finest MTB half-shell I've ever ridden in, both from a comfort and aesthetic standpoint. Unfortunately, it does have a pricetag to match. But nothing costs more than looking good feels, right?

            Comments about Smith Forefront Helmet:

I took a slow fall & landed full force on the helment. I felt like my head was trying to be pushed thru a strainer. The Hex shaped inner support of the helmet doesn't distribute the load, so you have the skinny mesh thickness applying all the force like a knife edge. What a terrible design

            Comments about Smith Forefront Helmet:

I bought this helmet just because of the ventilation technology but to tell you the truth I went back to my Fox Flux since the forefront it is too hot during summer I really don't feel air flowing at all. and I sweat twice as much.

I like it but I think I will be using it during winter.

              Comments about Smith Forefront Helmet:

This fits me great and feels very comfortable. It breathes well without me having to worry about scooping a horsefly into one of the vents, thanks to the innovative koroyd protection. Also the thoughtfulness to include little channels to hold your sunglasses is AWESOME. The looks are polarizing to some, but I like it because it's really different.
