I never write reviews, but I feel compelled due to the two previous bad reviews. My 12 Spec Stumpjumper came with a terrible 12x142+ hub that didn't even last 200 miles. I put this hub on about 800 miles ago and it works flawlessly. I've been riding for about 15 years and have always had new higher end bikes. I am not sure what the other reviews are talking about when they are referring to bad points of engagement. This hub engages just like all of the other hubs I've owned. Anyway, I definitely recommend this hub.

Wow, the word that describe this product it not allowed here, so a closer word would be: Mediocre. I've been a Sram Shifter and derailleur fan for many years but this hub almost made me change for Shimano. This hub is horrible, it came with my new bike and it doesn't let my ride my bike. I can't ride my bike because of this hub. The engagement is just in 3 spots so there is a lot of lag when you are shifting. As soon as you change gear, the chain will star to change but with the lag between engagements in the hub, it will cause that the chain drops roughly on the next gear. This is a chain breaker. 3 chains in 4 month! Evaluate your choices before buying this . I checked and there is a lot of cheap hubs that work better than this one , so the price is not a factor for this problem

It appears to be bullet proof and is ultra quiet.(not sure why people want their hubs to sound like a bee hive through a PA) This hub gets a poor rating because of its engagement point. It is way too many degrees and very noticeable. Other than that it is great. It is sealed, light, inexpensive....just when the trail gets technical the engagement point is a little long and you will notice it especially if you are moving from from a higher POE hub to this one. Front Hub is fine and I would use it on future builds.
