      Surly 1x1 Delivers!

I used this fork to convert an old Hardrock to a 69er. Couldn't have been easier to work with and had JUST enough clearance for 2.55 fat tire!

why didn't surly make the canti pivots removable on this fork? the other 1x1 forks have the option.

            Comments about Surly 1X1 Fork:

I use this fork on a Marin aluminum hardtail MTB frame. I had some reservations given some of the reviews I've read recently about the finish of Surly products, but they were unfounded as this fork has clean welds and a high quality paint job.

The tire clearance is truly 2.7 inches as advertised. It's also fairly stiff, but has a more forgiving ride quality than an older Kona Project 2 that I've used over the years. Chalk it up to not being a straight-leg design.

If you're looking for a suspension height adjusted rigid steel work that does the job without weighing too much, and you don't need disc brake mounts, look no further!

              Comments about Surly 1X1 Fork:

Good, reliable fork that does everything it says. The roads in Montreal are pretty bad in general and this thing handles them well, although I'm riding on 29x1.9 slicks so that might absorb some of the punishment as well. Replaced stock Rock Shock Judy TT's with Surly 1x1 Fork for a smoother city ride. Well worth it.

              Comments about Surly 1X1 Fork:

I got this fork for an older rigid steel single speed, and I am totally happy. The fork has not failed me, even though it's been through some serious abuse. Super strong and nimble, this fork will probably last the rest of my life. Only thing is, as steel forks go, this one is a little heavier, not as heavy as others for sure, but you can't beat the performance to price ratio.

Slam that stem and cut the steer tube for maximum weight savings!

I used this fork to replace the pogo stick rock shox judy XC on my 90's vintage fisher to make it a better commuter. Worked like a charm. I suppose this fork is on the heavy side, but light weight doesn't exist at this price.

You can't beat Surly for forks. Got the cantilever only model and it was a great deal. These forks last forever. Never had a Surly item fail in years and years of being a Surly nerd.
