*Surly does not recommend the use of racks and disc brakes at the same time on the Karate Monkey. A rack will not clear the disc caliper without jury-rigging the leg outboard, and this will put stress on the mount, potentially breaking it.

Comments about Surly Karate Monkey Complete Bike 2011:
Nice tight geometry and reasonable weight make the Monkey a blast to ride, and it can become almost anything you want it to be, short of a featherweight racer or big-hit freerider. Today, mine is a dinglespeed mixed-terrain commuter / mountain bike with dirt drops that puts in over 100 miles per week of faithful service. Tomorrow, who knows what it will be. This bike's a keeper.
