The Surly Ogre is the Troll’s larger wheeled brother. The Ogre allows you to run a wide array of drivetrains, brakes, and cargo hauling accessories. The Surly Ogre is constructed of 4130 CroMoly steel and is based on the same geometry of the Karate Monkey. With the strength of an ox and spot on geometry, this is sure to become your go- to touring and commuting bike.
The Ogre is filled to the brim with technology. The Surly Ogre has a gusseted sloping top tube, Surly Trip Guides for running full shift and brake housing, mounts for linear- pull and disc brakes, and ample room between the stays for high- volume tires. The Ogre frame comes with a suspension- corrected fork with mid- blade eyelets and low- blade barrel bosses for mounting front racks. There are also cantilever pivots, should you decide to run cantilever brakes. The rear end allows all- at- once rack, fender, and disc compatibility.

I built this frame up for touring from alaska to argentina. Racks+disc brakes has been a challenge to jimmy-rig on a few previous frames for me already, but the Ogre is well designed for this situation, in fact it is built for any application, single-speed, full drive train, on-off road, couriering, heavy loads.... It does it all.
