Surly Ultra New Free/Free Hub Rear 48h 135mm Black
Surly's Ultra New Freewheel 135mm Hub is new even though they look like the old hubs. The differences are noticeable when you look past the aluminum 6061-T6 forged and machined alumninum shell. Inside the Surly Ultra New Hub is a new hollow axle that very easily converts from a bolt-on to quick release axle. On the cones and end caps are heavy knurling to limit slippage. All Ultra New hubs come with fixing bolts, but all are QR compatible without axle conversion or any other extra stuff. Surly's Ultra New axles are made of Chromoly steel with 10.9 stainless steel fixing bolts.
Axle is QR and bolt-on compatible
Stainless 6mm bolts are included; quick release skewer is NOT included
6061-T6 forged hub shell (same as the Surly New); 6901 bearings
4130 CroMoly axle and stainless cones; agressive knurling on cones and bolt caps for reduced slippage
New axle/cone system uses uses a specific shouldered axle that allows the hubs to be completely adjustment free and simple to service
