Surly Nate 120 TPI Tire

The Surly Nate is a go- anywhere, do- anything tire. The casing is round and supple at 120 TPI. The tall, widely spaced knobs are siped for added grip and compliance, which optimizes their grip. The knob’s wide spacing means they dig deep into the terrain for optimal traction. The tire has tread wrapped around the sides which provides traction in hard turns.

  • More aggressive tread than other Surly fat tires
  • Tall, widely spaced knobs with siping
  • Tread wraps around the side of the tire a bit
  • PSI: 5-30 PSI
  • Tire Bead: Folding

THE 3.8" fatbike tire for snow.
This is THE 3.8" tire for riding on a fatbike over sketchy surfaces unless you can go even bigger. However for a combination of snow and trail it can't be beat in my opinion. It does weigh in at about 2lbs-14oz. Knards are about 2oz lighter but don't have the teeth or shedding capability.

PROS: Great Traction

Must have for snow
These are a must have for riding in the snow or on ice. Short of studs you cant beat these. Drop the psi and climb all of your favorite summer trails. Very confidence inspiring. Expensive but worth the upgrade if you truly want to mountain bike on snow.

PROS: Light Ish, Confident, Fatbike, Knobby

CONS: Expensive

BEST USES: Fatbike, Mountain Biking

mis labeled size
I like the performance of this tire. Only negative is that the tire is listed as a 3.8 width, but the casing is stamped 4.0. It is really a 4.0 and I have very little (about 4mm) clearance between chain and tire as a result. I bought the tire based on its performance reviews and, importantly, on the basis of it's width since I have tight frame/chain clearance. This is a winter/snow bike and hopefully the width will not create a problem under those conditions.

PROS: Great Traction

CONS: Heavy, Width Mis-stated

Glued to the trail!
Replaced the inexpensive tires that came on my fatbike and can't believe the handling and traction improvements!

PROS: Great Traction, Lightweight

noob question. what is the least expensive fat bike that will fit an ebay threebikemotor rear ebike wheel 72v 3000w specs are 26" by 4" wide with 175mm hub width? the hub is single gear only and disk brake only setup. or what keywords should i use to research compatible frames. the website says that 190mm and 210mm rear fork width will work.
