Comments about Surly Bud Folding Tire:

It is a fat bike tire- big and fat... Easy to install and set up tubeless on my Marge Lite rims. I have used it for a couple of races and a few rides so I can't report on durability but seems to be holding up well. So far I am pleased but when this one wears out I think I am going to run a Lou on front in place of this Bud which seems to be the combination (Lou/Lou) of choice for our local terrain.

Comments about Surly Bud Folding Tire:

Fat bike tires are crazy ex$pen$ive. This was no exception. It replaced a Surly Nate (3.8") on the front, which then replaced a Vee Mission on the back. We got about 5' of fluffy snow in February, so the trails were not white asphalt by any stretch. This tire vastly improved my experience. If I can fit its companion, Lou on the back I'll start saving for 2016.....

Comments about Surly Bud Folding Tire:

Surly Bud and Lou are still the king of fat tires. There are so many options now and many are getting as wide as Bud & Lou, but none are as aggressive or well designed. I've tried many and I always go back to Bud & Lou. If you aren't a weenie and worry about "rolling resisitance" (who does that with a fat bike anyway???) and you care more about a tire to conquer any and all terrain, then this is it. I've actually always thought they roll fine too if you have to get on some pavement. Best tires out there!

Comments about Surly Bud Folding Tire:

The Bud has noticabley more cornering traction in snow and mud than the BFL I had on previously. It's not the fastest tire, but it rolls reasonably well given the size and aggresive tread.
