T.H.E. Cosmo Shorts

T.H.E. Cosmo Shorts

Aside from some wicked skills and nerves of steel, being able to rip it on a mountain bike requires the appropriate equipment. A commonly overlooked piece (or pieces) of equipment are the clothes one wears when riding. The Cosmo Short by T.H.E. is a durable, yet lightweight, pair of mountain biking shorts that allow for free movement but still hold up after a gnarly spill. A ratcheting waist band will ensure they don’t slide around and they hit just below the knee with plenty of room for knee pads. Zippered pockets will keep your valuables with you and off the trial. The heavy-duty nylon shell provides plenty of protection against trail-abrasion while mesh panels provide ventilation. Screen-printed graphics and modern mountain-biking style aren’t necessarily performance features, but these shorts look so good it bears mentioning. You can’t go wrong with the T.H.E. Cosmo shorts!

Features

  • Heavy-Duty Nylon shell
  • Ratcheting Waist Closure
  • Zippered Pockets
  • Mesh Panels for Ventilation

Super Comfy and Stretchy in all the rig
Like everyone else says, order a size up! I am about a 33" waist and went with the XLarge (36") and it fit almost perfectly being a touch too snug.

Great shorts
These are great quality shorts. Fairly slim fitting but very comfortable. Only real downside is that pockets are limited to just one small one on the right side which is really only large enough for keys.

Great deal on DH/freeride shorts
I'm not sure why the other review says "not suitable to wear," but if you want a pair of no-nonsense, race-oriented, durable shorts for DH/freeride/dual slalom/dirt jump, these are a great deal. If you want pockets for more than your keys, look elsewhere. They are cut on the small side, so size up if in doubt. My waist is 31", but the large fits perfectly due to highly adjustable ratchet strap. Read the review on singletracks.com.

Run Small
Read the reviews before buying. I have a 31" waist and the large fits around my waist perfectly without using the ratchet adjustment. But I'm about 5'4" tall and the length comes down to about mid shin, which is a little lower then I like. I hemmed the bottom about 1.5" and now its perfectly blow the knee.

The materal seem pretty durable, similar to my motorcycle jacket. It holds my sweat in and doesn't wick out well, but I was wearing regular cotton boxers. Haven't really tried them in 90+ degree weather yet.

I would recommend, unless your a heavy sweater.

CONS: Not True to Size, Doesn't Breath Well

Good shorts weird size
I by no means have a large butt, but with these you would think i did. The waist seems to be sized correctly but across the seat it seems to small. I have a 34" waist and got the xl. They are plenty usable though the seat is a bit tighter than i would like and while riding i have a gap in the waist. Other than that the quality and durability is excellent and the legs are a good length and large enough to go over knee pads with out being too big.

very disapointed
I ordered a set of these riding shorts on end of season clearance and was very excited to try them out for the closing weelend in whistler. Unfortunately when I received my size large shorts they were significantly too small. Small to the point where they properly fit my 110 lb wife perfectly. I'm not sure if this is an chance error in tagging or how they normally fit these shorts. I can however say the finish of the shorts looks great and the durability looks good as well. My wife wore the shorts for a day at the park and said they were comfortable and did breath well.
