I installed these petals late last summer and have ridden maybe 5-8 times with them. Then the right pedal began to float back and forth on the shaft. I took it off and replaced it with an old petal so that I could ride again thinking that I just needed to tighen the axle nut. Then, two rides later, the left pedal did the same thing! I took the first one apart an found that the bearing had essentially disintegrated. It had maybe half the ball bearings and the rest of them were metal debris in the grease! That is what allowed the nut to float back and forth on the shaft.
I have had Time petals for years and never had a problem. That is why I purchased two new pairs when the old ones on my two bikes wore out. The ones I received are absolute junk compared to the old ones that lasted for 6 years. I will be returning them under warrenty tomorrow but if the replacement ones have the same design, then I will only get 3 months out of them too! What happened to quality?

This was my first clipless pedal in nearly 20 years of riding. The price was right and so far the pedals have been great. Once I got used to getting in and out of them they have been very easy to use and feel more comfortable than my old flat pedals with the cage. I feel like I have more freedom of movement and control over the ability to unclip in emergencies(commuting in the city with some not always bike friendly drivers). I tried two other pedals, a flat clipless pedal and another SPD type before purchasing these and overall I felt these were the easiest to use, and were a great pedal for the money.

Only 50-60 miles on these so far, but these are a big step up in comfort from my SPDs! The wider foot contact feels better. Only complaint is that they can be a little slow to engage/disengage, but I assume that's due to the very wide float angles.

This is my second set and only because my first set is still on my old bike. The only complaint would be that its not beginner friendly. It was hard to get in and out of when making the switch to clipless. I have beat the snot out of these pedals and have never had a problem getting in or out of them.
