Maxxis High Roller II 3C Exo Tubeless Ready 27.5" Tire

Revamp your 650b Trail machine with the open and aggressive tread design of the High Roller II. With excellent soil penetration and mud clearing capacity, the square profile provides a solid, consistent feel across the knobs. Modified knobs on the shoulder and center, progress braking performance and traction on hard surfaces. Employing Maxxis’s Exo Protection, the High Roller II is cut-resistant and abrasion-resistant on the sidewalls, while remaining flexible. The 3C Maxx Terra (triple compound) offers a comfortable combination of traction, low rolling resistance and longevity. This is a large, high-air-volume casing that still remains fairly light thanks to the foldable bead, making the High Roller II ideal for some freeriding on long-travel 5” and 6” trail bikes. When the trail gets technical, rely on the High Roller II to keep you upright and shredding hard!

Comments about Maxxis Highroller II 3C/Exo TR 27.5 Tire:

My SC Heckler 650b came with these right out of the shop. I liked them so much I'm continuing to run them. They are more durable than I thought as a lot of my local trails are loaded with sharp rocks. They hook up in the corners well and are great on hard pack. I'm not sure about mud yet, as we are in a long drought and my bike hasn't seen real mud in 2 years. Stay tuned.

Comments about Maxxis Highroller II 3C/Exo TR 27.5 Tire:

I love these tires. The dual compounds came on my Bronson stock and I bought a set of the 3C/EXO TR as a replacement. The 3C feels grippier, but the durability of the side knobs is not as good. I typically ride very rocky/loose trails and the side knobs are starting to get torn up after only a month of riding. I haven't torn any knobs off yet, but they are getting cut up near the base of the knobs.

Durability aside, these tires inspire lots of confidence to keep pushing the envelope. When leaning they hook up well and keep you on your line. Breakaway is predictable and there is plenty of time to correct when a tire begins to slide. Compared to the dual compound, these wear faster in my opinion. I was able to ride the dual compound for a long time and I only took them off because I cut gash in the side wall and had a puncture that would not seal.

Installation is easy, I was able to install this on WTB i23 ST rims with a floor pump. They hold air even without using sealant! I am able to run these at 18 PSI front and 20 PSI rear with no problems. I weigh about 165 with gear.

Overall, dual might be better for normal usage/practice while triple compound might want to be saved for more special occasions.
