I use this pump for my mountain bike and road bike with presta valves. Once the head is connected, it'll inflate tires with pressures around 30psi or lower with no problems. So it works all the time with my mtn bike.
When trying to top off my road bike tires, I have to bleed off most of the air and re-inflate. With any pressure above 30psi, the pump head will not push down the head of the presta valve to pump air in the tube.

The pump is very well constructed. The manometer indicated have good precision, but I need a lab to compare and measure. If you have more than one bike (and I've 3 in my family) that's a great tool to have on the garage.
It's come with a ball valve adapter, so you can use them for footballs too.

Great finish. You can see great quality in it. Low weigth and easy to use are goals too. I'm using on 3 family bikes and was a great improvement to our equips. Never use again the small hand pump in our house, keeping small things to trails.
