I had owned this jacket only a few hours before casing a landing and launching myself into a rocky mountain side. Thank You TLD (and Giro and Poc). You saved me a trip to the ER.
This was the worst accident I've experienced. Cracked my helmet, ripped knee pads, shredded clothing. But the jacket just plain worked. Everything stayed in place. The hard plastic saved me from stitches. Just enough padding to keep me from breaking bones... although I did bruise, especially around the outlines of the hard plastic shoulders. Minus some rash on the plastic, it was no worse for wear.
It's definitely a little on the heavy side but does breath well. I found the back protector wanting to ride up just enough to knock the back of my helmet. But overall the fit was good and the protection great.

I bought this in a medium and the fit could have been better. My main problem with it was that my arms had much more limited range of motion with it on, and when I wore it under a medium troy lee designs jersey and it seemed very noticeable/bulky. It does have excellent build quality and is very adjustable to get a good fit, but it wasn't what i was looking for
