Build quality is solid and the fabric is nice, but these shorts run way smaller in the waist than advertised. Not stretchy at all. I bought size 32, and it feels almost like 30. All my other pants are size 32, including Fox biking shorts, which feel right.

Even with Velcro waist band relaxed all the way, the shorts don't stretch at all. You can, however, downsize them to 28 or so easily.

I´m a 30 waist in pants size. I ordered a 32 because I saw on reviews that it tends to fit smaller. The 32 barely fits me at the smallest adjustment. A 30 would be perfect, so I think the short is actually true to size. You should get it the same sizeyou get your pants.

Shorts feel great, are comfortable and fit true to size. Only complaint I have is that the pockets don't have zippers like the TLD Ace shorts, so not the best to carry anything in when riding.

Comments about Troy Lee Designs Skyline Short 2014:

the shorts were the right size but kind of tight. the strech fabric is meant to strech so I understand why it is tight but why not make it loose so you don't have to strech it each time your leg comes up in a pedal stroke? Beyond that the construction seems week and there is no rear pocket or adjustable leg length.

I have been looking for a pair of baggy shorts to wear over padded lycra since my Fox Hucks wore through. The shorts are nice. A little longer but not too long. I found they were exactly true to size. No vents and a little warm because the fabric seems thicker. I bet they will wear well. Have only ridden in them a few times. Also wish the color was more subdued. Im not into the green but it was the least loud of the options. I wear these on long XC ride in S Ca over knee pads. Wish they had vents but still the best baggies I have found since my old Hucks of 8 years or more ago.

I have one pair of '13 and one pair of '14 Skyline shorts. Both size 34. I'm 6'2" 200 lbs and use them for trail riding. I find they are a perfect length for me and breathe well despite the fabric being durable. I find the '13's are tighter in the waist for some reason by about an inch, while the '14s are truer to size. The '13's also had the rubber and velcro layers on the waist adjusters separate after just a few washes, but it was fixable with a needle and thread. The '14s have updated adjusters and do not have that problem. The only problem I had that was not changed on the 2014 shorts was a snap at the front of the waist that split apart and fell off. Given that the one that's left is still holding, and the other pair has a lot of riding and both are intact, I think it's an isolated incident. If they keep making these I will keep buying them. I don't even feel the need to try anything else.

Great shorts for All-Mountain Enduro riding but since it's not true to size (feels bigger), so I have decided to use this shorts for Downhill instead. I wear size 32" waist on my other pants/shorts but have to buy another size 30" for this TLD Skyline shorts for my Enduro/Trail riding use. Now I own 2 of these shorts. Size 32 and size 30. For those who wish to buy, opt to buy 1 size smaller guys.

Even with a pair of crash shorts underneath, they are a little loose. They still fit and stay on, but are about an inch oversized.

They have a really nice fit otherwise and the stretchy stuff around the butt makes them never bind or feel tight. I liked them enough to buy a second pair, just in a slightly smaller size. I use them both.
