A shorter stem can really perk up your riding, especially in descent situations. Most stems tend to be long (100 mm or so) which is fine for smooth trails but for quick, responsive handling in rock gardens and steeps a short stems rocks. And this stem stands out. It's very sturdy and reasonably priced.

heavy duty one piece machine made.. built for something like a U-joint or axle bearing on a truck.
This will make your ride heavier and make all other parts up front seem fragile so beware!

Really like short stems and I think about switching all my MTBs to these. Not bike computer friendly (you have to use up valuable handelbar space if you need to have one). Ciuld be lighter. Would like white version for a change but I keep the change in my pocket;)

This is a strong, heavy stem. I bought it used to try out a shorter reach on my mountain bike, and I'm very happy with it. It's super sturdy and feels absolutely bomb proof.
It's also massively big. So big that I couldn't attach my bike computer to it, but that's okay.

In a world where solid mountain bike parts cost a small fortune it is nice to find a product that is cheep and reliable. I personally run this stem on all of my bikes. Where as it may not be as flashy as other stems on the market. You just cant beat the price to weight to strength ratio.

I bought it to replace a longer OEM stem. Installation was not easy, my fork had some sort of play afterwards. I replaced it with the OEM stem and the wiggle was gone. I guess the Truvativ stem was not an exact size replacement for my original stem. Maybe it will work with some other bikes but not mine.

This is a solid product. I would buy time and time again. It has handled a bunch of abuse and I haven't had a single problem. I imagine it could take a lot more punishment than I dare to give it. It's on a Transition Bottlerocket.
