Stans NoTubes Rim Strip

This is the strip with valve only by Stans NoTubes for homebrew tubeless applications. Its purpose is to set up non-tubeless rims as tubeless rims! Stans NoTubes has been enabling riders to free themselves from the shackles that are tubes for many years. Note: Sealant is not included and sold separately. Not required for use with tubeless-ready rims.

This strip mimics the inner surface that helped make Stan's rims so popular (besides their lightweight)--it gives more of a "bead shelf", something to keep the tire tight when the bead rests on it which gives it the more secure seal. The valve is also built in, so that's another spot that that that allows easy sealant refill, a more secure seal, and doesn't need to be replaced if you ever break the bead like "ghetto tubeless methods".

This rim strip is challenging to install - even using Stan's No Tube's website for help. Once you figure it out though - your wheels are sealed. Only draw back is, making sure you get the rim strip evenly stretched around the rim - if not, you'll have a woobly, unbalanced, and out of round tire. At slow speed - no problem; going fast... you'll feel it. If you can - I recommend you use the No Tube's rim tape if your wheels will allow - no wobble.

Doesn't work well with WTB Dual Duty

By Ryan

from Colorado Springs

Comments about Stan's No Tubes Stan's NoTubes Rim Strip:

Seems well made and I hope it works better with other rims. Tried going tubeless on a spare bike that has WTB Dual Duty FR rims, followed the suggestion for a layer of velox tape for these rims on Stans website. The suggested FR rim strip is too wide for this rim, I had to trim the sides to keep it out of the bead area. It was so wide it went nearly from one edge of the rim to the other and prevented the bead from seating.

Comments about Stan's No Tubes Stan's NoTubes Rim Strip:

It is possible to go tubeless w/o the rim strip, but it doesn't get much better when you do. Never had an issue with my tubeless setups. Just wish Stan's would sell them for a fair price... A full tube cost 10-12 while this "strip" of a tube is priced at 22.

Comments about Stan's No Tubes Stan's NoTubes Rim Strip:

Using Sun Rhyno Lite rims, gorilla tape did not work. I tried increasing the tape thickness to to four wraps, still didn't work properly. This seated at the bead right away, good stuff. Using Continental Der Kaisers DH casing.

Blocks tire from setting the bead!

Comments about Stan's No Tubes Stan's NoTubes Rim Strip:

Altough this is more convenient then using the Stan's tape, it is very difficult to get the rubber to stretch evenly around the wheel. Even though my wheel was in the discription, there stip was far to big and would block the tire from being able to set the bead. Do yourself a favor and buy the tape instead. Much easier!

Used the flow stan strip on my flow wheels; it worked so well tried to use the "standard size" on my standard wheels which did not work. I don't know if it's the cross ride wheels or the tires but it would not fill up with air.

Flat disappointed with the rim strips

          Verified Buyer

Comments about Stan's No Tubes Stan's NoTubes Rim Strip:

Had to use compressor to seat tires during rim strip install.
Flatted on impact with rock on recent ride, tire would not seat with hand pump, had to install tube to get home.
Contacted manufacturer through their website with questions - to date no response.
They burp on rocks and roots, have to add air on longer rides.
