Not very happy with the design. My bottle was ejected on the first ride with these cages. Constantly had to check that the bottles weren't about to pop out over any type of rough pavement. Be careful with these if you don't want to eject a bottle in a large pack of riders.
My existing cages wouldn't mount on my 18" Slayer SXC70 frame and allow me to get my Camelbak stubby bottles in or out without excessive effort. Stumbled on this cheap cage when I was ordering some other stuff, so I thought I'd give it a try as it looked like it might solve the problem. It does. So now I can bring extra juice on Super XC rides. This is really an AM/light-freeride bike and I have a hardtail for most XC duty. But sometimes I take this one far enough to need the extra water. Also, and I have not ridden the Slayer hard with this cage yet. Normally I wouldn't have a full bottle on there if I intended to let it rip. But, on this particular frame, I'm confident the bottle isn't going to come out easily as the frame will help the cage retain the bottle due to the snug fit.The reason for my review, was simply so that anyone looking for a good value cage that will definitely fit the inside mounts on their RM Slayer frame in 18" or above, need look no further. This is it. You can get your stubby bottle in and out like normal. That combined with the price are worth 5* imo. I've used several nylon cages and have never had a problem. I've bent several alloy ones and cracked/snapped carbon cages. So don't let nylon put you off.
This is the best cage I've tried, it is lightweight, easy to take the water bottle in and out, and keeps your bottle in even over the really rough stuff (had a previous cage that looked nice, but the wattle bottle kept popping out). All-around good cage.Weaknesses:Don't tighten too hard or the plastic will crack, tightened properly, it should be durable.
