There are two kinds of people in the world of competitive skinny tire bikes. Those whose hearts skip a beat when someone else’s bike is a gram lighter than theirs, and those whose heart’s skip a beat when someone else’s bike has a fraction of a percentage less wind drag than theirs. The X-Lab Aero TT Water Bottle and Cage System is for the latter type. The Aero TT System bids 50% less drag than round bottles, saving up to one minute in an Ironman and up to 20 seconds off a 40km time trial.

Comments about X-Lab Aero TT Water Bottle Cage System:
I have a road bike, and this thing rattles a bit in its cage. I think that on a tri bike, when riding on perfect flats, this may be okay.
When the bottle is cold, the outside will (obviously) get dripping wet; and then it is hard to grip/ take out of its cage without the fear of accidentally dropping it onto the path of cyclists behind you.
The best place to grip it while drinking is on the left-and-right spots exactly where the bottle grasps the carbon fiber cage.
This bottle should have been made with grippy (read: hydrophilic) rubber on the circular area behind the cage grip area, with the addition of a pinch-grip type of hold.
Other: The red paint comes off, while the black sticks. Not what I'd expect for the price.
Other Other: I have this mounted on my down-tube. On my Cervelo S3, the bottom of this cage prohibits the proper seating of a standard bottle that I have mounted on my seat-tube.
