I bought these as an alternative to waiting for my standard Shimano M520 pedals. M520's are a good basis as they perform well and I would say that these are close however I noticed a couple of drawbacks. I found them harder to clip into but no so much to cause a real issue. Getting out is ok but not great. They also make noise on the pedal stroke from the cleats not the shafts. In their defense, I did not install the cleats that came with the pedals. The cleats that squeak have been in use for about a year so it could that I need to change them. Other than that they are they are smooth and hold as they should.

I have 2 sets of these Mountain and cyclocross, no problem. They don't mind the rain and the cleats match their road pedals. I beat them and still they work.
