The EC90 Aero wheel features a 56mm deep carbon section that slices through the wind with ease. Thanks to its excellent aerodynamic qualities, the EC90 Aero 56mm wheel has become a favorite of time trialists and triathletes alike. The EC90 Aero 56mm is laced to R4SL hubs that feature alloy axles, alloy freehub bodies and ceramic bearings, and also feature a low spoke count (18 front, 20 rear) for reduced weight and improved aerodynamics. Every EC90 Aero 59mm wheel is hand built and acoustically tuned in Easton’s own factory to ensure a perfect wheel right out of the box.

Comments about Easton EC90 Aero Tubular Road Wheel 2013:
I rotate between a set of clincher Mavic Cosmic Carbones, a pair of traditional Open Pro/shimano wheels and these. I am always amazed at just how lively my bike becomes with these installed. Maybe it's a placebo but they feel, sound and look fast. The rims have held up very, very well to my 175lbs. Two seasons on them (used maybe once a week) and they are perfectly round, straight and tensioned. The braking surface shows no signs of wear at all. I use Swiss Stop yellow pads and breaking is basically on par with my aluminium rims. Excellent. The only fault I can find with them -- other than the cost -- is that the rear hub bearings don't seem to hold up well in heavy wet use. I had to replace the freehub bearings (which were not easy to find) after one particular deluge. Mavic wins easily on this front. Also had issues with the original tool-free bearing preload adjuster coming loose on rides. Easton replaced it with a newer design that has been faultless.
