Since its arrival on the scene in 2003 the Yeti 575 has been a fan favorite, known for its handling and versatility on the trail. Lightweight with loads of travel make the 575 a joy on the descents while the progressive geometry and optimized suspension provide a stable platform for the climbs. In an effort to constantly improve their designs, the 575 has joined the 650b movement, bringing a modern mountain craze to a legendary trail machine.
Boasting classic Yeti geometry with frame features of a true trail bike gives the updated 575 a familiar feel while the 27.5” wheels and newly optimized rear suspension provide a more plush and comfortable ride, still. A slacker head tube angle, longer top tube, and a lower bottom bracket are features that originated from Yeti’s gravity background, but they feel right at home on the 575, providing confidence on any descent. Other key trail bike features include a press-fit bottom bracket, hydro-formed aluminum tubing, oversized chain stays for durability and stiffness, not to mention an ISCG 05 tab for all your chain guide needs.
The suspension on the 575 uses Yeti’s Dogbone link which simultaneously controls the leverage ratio curve and structurally reduces flex of the rear swing arm. The leverage ratio curve determines the feel of the suspension throughout its travel, allowing a soft and plush feeling at the beginning of the travel with a stiffer feel towards the end. The leverage ratio curve is carefully selected to best suite the frame, intended shock type, and riding style (XC, AM, DH, etc.). Optimizing this leverage ratio curve is a tedious task, yet the finished product is what sets Yeti trail bikes apart from the rest.
To gently guide you through the mountain, Yeti chose top-notch suspension pieces. Up front is the Fox 34, with 150mm of suspension. The Fox 34 features Kashima Coating for less friction, ultimately resulting in smoother suspension. The 15mm axle further improves the ride, providing superior handling and front end stiffness. The Fox Float rear shock features CTD technology. Climb Trail Descend (CTD) allows you to quickly micro-tune your rear suspension while on the trail. The quick and easy adjustment allows you to change settings multiple times while out on a ride. A nice blend of SRAM components can be found throughout the 575 Enduro. SRAM X7 shifters are paired to a SRAM X9 rear derailleur and SRAM X7 front derailleur. The Avid Elixir 5 hydraulic disc brakes quickly bring you to a halting stop while the DT Swiss M1900 wheelset is strong, lightweight, and rugged enough to stand up to the trail.
