Since its arrival on the scene in 2003 the Yeti 575 has been a fan favorite, known for its handling and versatility on the trail. Lightweight with loads of travel make the 575 a joy on the descents while the progressive geometry and optimized suspension provide a stable platform for the climbs. In an effort to constantly improve their designs, the 575 has joined the 650b movement, bringing a modern mountain craze to a legendary trail machine.
Boasting classic Yeti geometry with frame features of a true trail bike gives the updated 575 a familiar feel while the 27.5” wheels and newly optimized rear suspension provide a more plush and comfortable ride, still. A slacker head tube angle, longer top tube, and a lower bottom bracket are features that originated from Yeti’s gravity background, but they feel right at home on the 575, providing confidence on any descent. Other key trail bike features include a press-fit bottom bracket, hydro-formed aluminum tubing, oversized chain stays for durability and stiffness, not to mention an ISCG 05 tab for all your chain guide needs.
The suspension on the 575 uses Yeti’s Dogbone link which simultaneously controls the leverage ratio curve and structurally reduces flex of the rear swing arm. The leverage ratio curve determines the feel of the suspension throughout its travel, allowing a soft and plush feeling at the beginning of the travel with a stiffer feel towards the end. The leverage ratio curve is carefully selected to best suite the frame, intended shock type, and riding style (XC, AM, DH, etc.). Optimizing this leverage ratio curve is a tedious task, yet the finished product is what sets Yeti trail bikes apart from the rest.
X01 brings SRAM’s 11 speed mountain drivetrain to the masses with a lower price point without sacrificing performance. X01 is slightly heavier than XX1 (the difference is under 100g) but is still much lighter than any 2x10 setup out there while still offering a wide gear range thanks to the 10-42T X-Dome cassette. The new X01 cranks feature carbon arms and a removable spider (much like the X0 cranks) along with SRAM’s new X-Sync tooth profile which acts as a built in chain guide system. The rear derailleur’s X-Horizon design eliminates any vertical movement which reduces shift forces and prevents “ghost shifting”. The X01 drivetrain brings the latest and greatest SRAM technologies to your new complete bike offering a simple, clean, and more importantly, reliable drivetrain to your Yeti 575.
