2015 Yeti ASR Carbon X01 Bike
Yeti Cycles has long been one of the leading manufacturers in the all-mountain category, however they don't let that stop them from producing cutting-edge cross-country bikes as well. Initially introduced in the early 2000s, the Yeti ASR paved the way for modern XC bikes. No longer will you need to sacrifice speed for versatility - the ASR-C offers the tight, fast handling of an XC race bike with the plushness and versatility of an all-mountain rig.
Yeti has chosen the Fox Float 32 120mm Factory fork for this build. This fork is air sprung and has low friction 7000 series lightweight 32mm aluminum stanchions. The rear suspension is a Fox Float CTD. The Fox 32 Float fork and Fox Float CTD rear suspension make for a smooth ride that can roll over any XC course with ease. CTD stands for Climb, Trail, & Descend. €˜Climb' mode acts similar to a lock out by stiffening the suspension for better climbing and power transfer. €˜Trail' mode is a happy medium between lock out and wide open. €˜Descend' mode opens the suspension up and allows full use of the entire suspension travel.
The X01 build introduces SRAM's 11 speed mountain drivetrain to the masses with a lower price point without sacrificing performance. X01 is slightly less lightweight than XX1 (the difference is under 100g) but is still much lighter than any 2x10 setup out there, while still offering a wide gear-range thanks to the 10-42T X-Dome cassette. The new X01 cranks feature carbon arms and a removable spider (much like the X0 cranks) along with SRAM's new X-Sync tooth profile which acts as a built in chain guide system. The rear derailleur's X-Horizon design eliminates any vertical movement which reduces shift forces and prevents "ghost shifting". The X01 drivetrain brings the latest and greatest SRAM technologies to your new complete bike, offering a simple, clean, and more importantly, reliable drivetrain to your new Yeti ASR Carbon.

PROS: Versatile, Lightweight, Great Climber
BEST USES: Racing, Mountain Biking
Customer service is truly terrible. Jenson does not set up tires for tubeless, so expect to need to set up your tires for your first ride. If you had purchased this bike from a reputable bike shop, it comes ready to ride. That could be overlooked, but after 2 months the hub on the rear wheel is completely unrideable. I sent pictures and emailed Jenson the hub, it has been over a week and there is no communication on how to warranty the wheel.
If you want a buy a bike in rideable condition with working wheels, go anywhere else. This is the second major warranty we've had and it is beyond frustrating to pay this much for a bike that can not be ridden.
CONS: Wears Out Quickly, Poor Construction
PROS: Durable, Fast, Versatile, Lightweight, FUN
I dock a star because the water bottle placement sucks. The rear travel is positioned just so, so that the bottle will rub against the shock. I do not want to mount the bottle on the bottom bracket because I do not like to drink gravel and mud. So I am sticking with my Camelback. Other than that, no complaints. Great bike at a great deal. I will be back for more stuff.
