The visually stunning lines and sculpted tubeset of the SB-66 will capture your attention like love-at-first-sight. As you move in closer for a better look you’ll begin to notice this isn’t just another single pivot trail bike, but an innovative suspension design called Switch Technology. The oversized main pivot actually contains a second pivot (lower pivot of the swing arm) that is offset within the main. This eccentric mechanism switches direction as the bike moves through its travel creating an optimized wheel path without unexpected spikes or wallows. The Yeti SB 66 won the “Mountain Bike” editor’s choice award.

The progressive geometry and Switch Technology give the bike a more aggressive feel that yearns to be ridden hard. The suspension is quite active yet completely efficient for trekking up large climbs. The alloy frame weighs in at 7.5 pounds (claimed weight.) The frame is super light weight yet durable enough to be taken on gnarly trails.

The Yeti SB-66 XT Race features an impressive component build that is not only race ready, but is durable enough to ride throughout the season. The Fox Float suspension fork features 34mm diameter stanchions, CTD, Trail Adjust, and a 15mm through axle. The 34mm stanchions and through axle ensure the superior strength and rigidity of the fork. The Float features Fox’s innovative CTD technology. CTD stands for Climb, Trail, and Descend. As opposed to Fox’s old system of adjusting low speed compression, the CTD system is fast and easy, which allows you to make on the trail adjustments. Put the fork in Climb mode for low steep climbs, Trail for rolling terrain with a mix of elevation, or descend for downhill descents. The Float also features the Trail Adjust Mode which provides three micro adjustments for the Trail Mode. Yeti paired the Fox Float suspension fork with the Fox Float rear shock. This produces a smooth and even suspension feeling. Though the suspension pieces are impressive in themselves, there is still more to the bike. The Yeti SB-66 Race features a Shimano XT drivetrain setup with an Easton Haven Carbon handlebar and Thomson stem and seatpost, DT Swiss wheels amongst a plethora of other high quality components. Shimano XT shifters communicate with Shimano XT front and rear derailleurs and provide you thirty gears for various terrains. Shimano XT brakes are a sero wave disc brake system that has a 125% power rating. The over- sized 22mm ceramic pistons provide phenomenal stopping power. DT Swiss X1600 wheels are strong yet adds very minimal weight to the bike. The Yeti SB-66 Race features a phenomenal component setup, and has the perfect balance of light weight and strength.
