It’s the bike you’ve been waiting for! Switch suspension technology, fast rolling 29” wheels and of course Yeti’s proven fit and feel. Just like every other bike Yeti has produced, the SB-95 is the peak of refinement. Yeti did not just ‘copy and paste’ their Switch suspension technology from their 26” wheeled bikes to a 29” version; they adapted, reengineered and tested it over and over until it was perfectly suited for the bigger wheel. The basics still hold true - super efficient without sacrificing traction and comfort.
The SB-95 starts with a highly engineered alloy tubeset that is beautifully sculpted. At its heart is Switch suspension technology. This ingenious design uses an oversized main pivot that actually contains a second pivot (lower pivot of the swing arm) which is offset within the main. This eccentric mechanism switches direction as the bike moves through its travel creating an optimized wheel path without unexpected spikes or wallows.
Suspension duties are only reserved for the best - Fox. Up front is a Fox F29 34 120mm fork with tapered head tube and QR15 dropouts. In the rear is a Fox RP23 Factory shock. The rest of the components package is a list of the who’s who in the bike world. Manufactures like Shimano, DT Swiss and Easton.

Comments about Yeti Cycles Yeti SB-95 Alloy Race XT Bike 2012:
Quality built frame and components. Love the XT brakes, and gears. Fox Rear Shocks and Forks works well with the geometry of the bike. It felt good in the climb and it makes you want to go faster than your limit on the downhill. I didn't feel much difference on ride compared to my 26" mountain bike. The bike felt very balance and tracks very accurately on fast hairpin turns. The feedback from the bikes front and rear end are very accurate eliminating a of over turns and under steer on fast single tracks. The bike feels at home on single track, switch backs, rock garden and tight single track I just wish it came with the tubeless tires and adjustable seat post.

Very stable and comfortable bike for local trails and conditions- single track climbing, rock and root descents. Prefer moto style brake levers, but XTs aren't easily swapped, needs hose change. Lightweight considering bike travel and size. Very comfortable fit for me.

This is my 4th Yeti. I still own a 2001 ASR and a 2006 575. The SB95 is replacing the 575. So far is has been a great bike for the terrain I ride. I live in Pisgah Forest, NC which is very technical terrain. The Yeti 575 served me well and I still love it but I am riding the SB95 all the time now and so the 575 will be sold. The Yeti 575 was more plush, but the SB95 rolls over roots and rocks way easier. The frame and front end feel way stiffer. Could be the 15mm through axle on the fork and the 34mm tubes. I gave the SB95 4 stars because the weight. Other than that it's a 5 star bike. I am not a weight weenie and the weight is not a big deal to me. My Yeti 575 was heavier and so the SB95 feels lighter and more nimble to me.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
