The SB95C is the bike you’ve been waiting for! Switch suspension technology, fast rolling 29” wheels, lightweight carbon frame, and of course Yeti’s proven fit and feel. The alloy SB95 was such a success, that the next logical move was to enter the carbon realm! Yeti states "The SB95C isn't just the most advanced 29er we've ever made, or the most advanced carbon frame we've ever designed, it might be simply the best bike we've built to date." The main frame and swing arm are comprised of high modulus carbon fiber, which greatly reduces weight, absorbs chatter, while remaining rigid enough for optimal power transfer. The tapered head tube increases stiffness at the front end for graceful singletrack handling. Internal cable routing on the rear triangle helps keep debris from contaminating cables, while keeping this machine looking sleek and complete. The custom chain slap guards in the rear triangle help keep the bike's beautiful paint finish looking handsome. Not only is the SB-95c frame a beast on the trail, she's quite easy on the eyes!
The SB95C utilizes Switch suspension technology, and Yeti did not just merely ‘copy and paste’ their Switch suspension technology from their 26” wheeled bikes to a 29” version; they adapted, reengineered and tested it over and over until it was perfectly suited for the bigger wheel. The result is an ingenious design that uses an oversized main pivot that actually contains a second pivot (lower pivot of the swing arm) which is offset within the main. This eccentric mechanism switches direction as the bike moves through its travel creating an optimized wheel path without unexpected spikes or wallows. The basics still hold true - super efficient in all gear combinations without sacrificing traction and comfort.
As if the SB-95C wasn't intriguing enough, Yeti has drapped this horse in SRAM X01 11-speed components, which brings SRAM’s 11 speed mountain drivetrain to the masses at a friendlierr price point, without sacrificing performance. X01 is slightly heavier than XX1 (the difference is under 100g) but is still much lighter than any 2x10 setup out there, and still offers a wide gear range thanks to the 10-42T X-Dome cassette. The new X01 cranks feature carbon arms and a removable spider (much like the X0 cranks) along with SRAM’s new X-Sync tooth profile which acts as a built in chain guide system. The rear derailleur’s X-Horizon design eliminates any vertical movement which reduces shift forces and prevents “ghost shifting”. The X01 drivetrain brings the latest and greatest SRAM technologies to your new complete bike offering a simple, clean, and more importantly, reliable drivetrain to your SB-95C.
