Just installed it and that took a while. Not because it was difficult but because the directions are absolutely useless (the directions were: if you don't understand these directions have a dealer install)... Yeah that's it.. That was their attempt at instructions... I also ended up having to buy some tools but that's understandable just not mentioned in the "instructions". Once I got the tools and used YouTube/google to watch unrelated videos to piece together how to install the gaurs on a bb mount the install went smoothly. Rant done. The product itself I love. It works great and seems very durable. I expect it to fit what I was looking exactly.
I bought the smaller BB mount Twinty. I am using a 22/32 chainring setup and 9 speed on the back. My advice based on my experience using this on a 2 x 9 setup is to slid the guide/tension block the whole way to the rear. Equally important is where you index (time) the overall position of the guide. Looking at the drive side (guide), I found it worked best to move it more counter clockwise to lessen the tension on the chain. I should mention that the bike I mounted this guide on is used primarily as a carefully ridden cross country/all mountain bike. When adjusted properly it has been working well. I must mention that I have not used it a long time and the weather and conditions I used it in were clear and dry
PROS: Easy To Install, Efficient Design, Lightweight, Durable
BEST USES: Avoid Chainsuck, Mountain Biking, Racing, Upgrade
Instructions were horrible. the install instructions consisted of the words "If you don't understand the following please have your local BLACKSPIRE dealer complete the installation" the following instructions had nothing to do withthe actual instal just how to properly adjust it and align it after its been installed.
After this i was excited to ride with the Twinty is seemed liek it would work great at keeping my chain on and not splapping. unfortunatly the second day i road it I found its fatal flaw. When the chain pops off the biggest chainring the plastic guide meant to keep your chain on simply flexes away and then eventually snaps off.. I bought this thing to keep my chain on but it does not do that at all and was a huge waste of time and money. I will be returning it and seeking a refund.
