Built Tested Tuned - Bike Assembly

BUILT

We completely assemble every bike that leaves our facility to ensure that every aspect of your bike is ready to go and safe to ride when it arrives at your door. This build process allows our bike techs to inspect your bike from end to end, verify all parts are included, and everything is functioning properly. We do this so you don't have to. *Note that some final assembly is required due to shipping. See “Shipping & Delivery” below.

TESTED

It is one thing to just assemble a bike, but we take that a step further by inspecting and testing your bike for function and safety. Our techs perform a multipoint inspection of your frame and various components to ensure that they are no defects, flaws, or mechanical issues. You can ride assured that your bike is ready for the world of adventure before you.

TUNED

What good is a beautiful bike if it doesn't perform equally well? The bike techs at Jenson USA ensure that your bike and components are dialed in to perform flawlessly mile after mile. Everything from wheel to wheel is torqued, adjusted, and calibrated so you can focus on your ride, and not worrying about maintenance.

SHIPPING & DELIVERY

Once we've Built, Tested, and Tuned your new bike, it comes time to send it out to its new home. To get your bike to your home safely we take steps to pack it efficiently and securely. This requires us to remove a few parts to fit inside the box, and keep your bike safe during its journey. Some final assembly is required due to shipping, but these parts are easily re-installed, and should only take minimal time to have your bike ready to ride. If you need help learning how to reassemble your bike we have a step-by-step video that will quickly walk you through the process.

Save your money if can do it yourself
I purchased a complete Niner Jet9 with Sun Ringle Rims, the bike is awesome and I got it for a great deal! Very happy with the bike and the deal. This gold build was included for free. If I had know the poor job they were going to do I would have rather had the bike untouched from the factory. Here's the issues that the assembler caused:
* The stan's rim tape was dented from tire levers, no tears, or holes, but close, if I decide to race this bike I'll have to replace it, as it adds risk.
* Minor scratch in the sticker on the rear wheel, it's just cosmetic, but really?
* Bur in the seat post down tube, scratched the post when installed. hidden, but irritating. Also, no grease on post.
* All torques were questionable, and not checked IMO, probably tightened by "feel"
* No grease on cassette to hub splines, maybe this is just something I do...?
* The signature on the checklist is real, but all the check boxes are pre-filled by the computer, so who knows if these things were really checked or not...?
* Customer service didn't seem to care when I mentioned these things, and I mentioned them twice (2 different instances) hoping they would at least be concerned and possibly suggest they would improve their system... No, just got a very lackadaisical response about it.

On the positive side, the packing was good, the derailler's shifted ok and wheels were true, and also the BB was squared, but I have no way of knowing if these things were done by Jenson or by the factory.

So the bottom line is this: If you don't have any mechanical skills then you may have to buy one of these packages, but I'd spend as little on it as you have to and pay your LBS do the work.

THe bike was such a good deal, I really can't complain much more than this review. I won't stop buying parts from Jenson nor would I not consider getting another bike from them if the price is right, but if I do I'll request no one works on the bike as I have the skill to do all the work myself and even if they had done a good job I still would have gone through it completely myself.

PROS: Derailleurs Adjusted, Assembled For Shipping, Bb Trued I Think

CONS: Scratches, Questionable Torques

PRETTY DARN GOOD
HEADSET SHIMS WERE STACKED UPSIDE DOWN AND CAUSED HEADSET TO NOT SET COMPLETELY. ONCE I FLIPPED THE SHIMS WITH THE THIN LIP DOWN INTO THE TOP OF THE HEADSET BEARINGS IT STAYED TIGHT WITH NO PLAY. OTHER THAN THAT A VALVE STEM WAS MISSING THE NUT AND CAP. STILL PRETTY HAPPY. NO SCRATCHES OR OTHER BULL THAT I HAVE HAD FROM FROM LOCAL BIKE SHOPS.

Not the quality I'd expect from Jenson
I've purchased two other bikes from online competitors, and their "free" build was much more comprehensive and "ride ready" aside from installing wheels, stem & seat, and handlebar.

PROS: Cables Routed

CONS: Rear Derailer Not Connec, Bike Packaging Loose, Not Tuned

Impressive attention to detail
The bike was extremely carefully and thoroughly packed in order to prevent any damage during the shipping. It took 10 minutes to assemble and everything fit perfectly. The disk breaks were already adjusted and were not rubbing, the shifting was tuned , even the seat angle was spot on and the tires were inflated to the right psi. The only thing was that the water bottle cage bolts were loose, but maybe that was to easily mount one :P Overall I am very impressed, Thank you!

Very well packaged and pre-assembled bike!
The bike was pre-assembled very well. It only took me about an hour to complete the job. Your video tutorial is also very helpful. One suggestion though: In the video describe more detailed how to locate the derailleur on the bracket. I found out at the very end when putting the wheel in that I had it wrong.

Great bike for heavy rider
Hi, I just bought this bike. It's certainly a great value in my opinion. The frame is an Orbea 2014 Avant mode year. Built up with Ultegra components and shimano sturdy wheels it's a great package. You would have a difficult time to find a better deal elsewhere. I've looked. If you want the latest hydroformed frameset for 2017 with ultegra drivetrain, same quality wheels and similar components, you'll have to spend 2,000 or more in my opinion . Hope this helps, my frame is a 60cm and weighs in at 22lbs without pedals. Light enough and sturdy enough for me at 290lbs.
