Rooting for the Rootdown
All-mountain steel hardtails have always had a soft spot in our hearts. They’re playful, confidence-inspiring, and just downright fun. We can say without a doubt that Chromag’s Rootdown certainly fits the bill. It’s made out of 4130 Chromoly, which is renowned for its no-nonsense durability and general reliability. With modern geometry in the form of long reach and a 64-degree head tube angle, you’ll feel plenty confident while bombing the descents while still being able to efficiently climb back up to the top. Support for 150-170mm travel forks and both 29” and 27.5+ wheels means that you can dial in the Rootdown to fit your needs and riding style. A semi-integrated headset and partial internal cable routing make maintenance simple. While the Rootdown may not be the lightest or stiffest frame on the market, we can say with certainty that it’s a joy to ride, it’ll always put a smile on your face, and it’ll last a lifetime.
