The hydration pack for quick spins and short hikes
Not every ride or hike is a marathon. Sometimes we have to make the most of what little time we have and squeeze in a quick spin or a short stroll. With a 70oz/ 2L reservoir, the Shuttle will keep you comfortable and hydrated on the trail for up to 3-4 hours. The breathable air mesh back panel and shoulder straps allow perspiration to dry quickly, keeping you fresh, cool, and ripping down the trail. There are many other clever features including a fleece sunglass pocket, an internal pump sleeve, and an integrated rescue whistle / sternum strap. The Dakine Shuttle 6L hydration pack is constructed of tough nylon and polyester material, so it's sure to give you a long life of shuttling.
I bought this pack because I wanted a smaller alternative to my Kudu 12 L pack for shorter rides. I have always used camelbak products before and wanted to try another brand. The size is perfect, it small and compact and you barely notice it is there. However, it lacks some of the functionality that I have enjoyed from camelbak like mesh storage package for a multi-tool and tire levers, and a pocket with a key clip in it to make sure even of the zipper comes open my car keys would stay put. The bite valve does not include a lock valve and the hose is not easily detachable like camelbak products which makes filling a little more challenging.
Great for shorter mountain bike rides where lots of water isn't needed
I tried this out for the first time today. It has an easy to fill bladder and the bite valve is the most comfortable of any I have used so far. The bag is of very high quality and looks really nice. It is a nice, comfortable fit and lightweight. There is a pump sleeve in the main compartment that is very handy. You could put a few additional items in this compartment. There is a soft, "sunglass" compartment which is perfect for CO2 inflator, cartridges, tire levers, etc. The long zippered compartment fit a 29" tube perfectly.
Pack looks sweet, is very adjustable from a smaller frame rider to a larger frame like myself. Bladder that comes with the pack is easy to clean and seems like high quality. I can fit the full bladder, 1 tube, a pump, multi tool, wallet phone keys a few energy bars and 1 extra bottle of water without having to jam it in there. Fit more than I expected!
This pack is amazing! Small, lightweight, durable and easy storage. I love this pack it holds what I need it to hold and nothing more. I can take my wallet, keys, phone, spare tube, air pump all in this little pack with a full hydration bag. Easy to use hydration bladder with simple bite valve. The only con I see is when the hydration bladder is full it seems to not feel flat on your back. I will remove my spare tube and see if it makes any difference. even with that one con it is still a great pack compared to my previous Wally World pack.
