The way you like it – GA2 with extra thick circumference. Specifically for riders with large hands or high demands for damping. The ergonomic optimized form, allows reduced force while gripping, because the grip zones are matched to the hand. The inner construction varies in thickness allowing greater damping. The GA2 Fat has a superb tactile feel – The super soft, UV-stable rubber compound is exclusively manufactured in Germany for Ergon! This allows greater control even on demanding trails. The inboard clamp allows even more gripping area at the end of the bars, it is completely secure and carbon bar friendly. With replaceable endplug.
Thicker grips are the way to go in my own opinion. A lot of thin grips wear my hand and fingers out much faster. This were rad on the trail and in the park at big bear. When I ride trail with no gloves these things have a TON of grip. Very tacky.
I've always been a fan of the Oury grips which fit my large paws better than most and provide some vibration and small bump dampening. I tried the standard size Ergon and loved the idea, but were too thin. These combine the best of both worlds.
I have big hands and it felt like I had to death grip the bars when I had smaller grips, to the point where I had to ride with gloves to be comfortable. These are a bit faster than my old grips, and they seem to solve that, they're comfortable with or without gloves.
I like the form fitted shape(not round) Matches my hands very well. 3mm hex adjusts grip placement and rotation easily allows for perfect fit. Matches my bike colors, look great. Fully recommend if you like medium firm grip density. Also love my Ergon Seat
The lock-on grips seem to be thin since they have a thin piece of plastic to adhere all the lock-on goodness. These seem to be a very nice compromise between big and too big. They do get a little fatter at the ends which is shown in the photo. I tend to rest my hands there on grinding uphills. I like them. Negative: Expensive
I found that these grips are most certaily good quality but they are not soft at all. They are a bigger grip for sure but to me just feel to plastic like. I was expecting a much more cushy feel and looking for better shock absobing qualities and these did not deliver.
