Mountain bikes are ever evolving. Every year mountain bikes get beefier, lighter, and stiffer. Technology progresses rapidly leaving previous generations in the dust. The Evil Offering is an all new mountain bike from Evil that has long travel and 29" wheels so riders can conquer everything that is placed in front of them. It starts with a carbon fiber frame that has the DELTA system, or better know as Dave's Extra Legitimate Travel Apparatus. The DELTA system provides a supple feel early on in the travel with a bottomless ramp at the end of the travel. The frame also has a flip chip that allows riders to be able to adjust their frame's geometry on the fly by flipping the chip. This chip flip leaves the leverage rate curve unchanged. All you're changing is the bottom bracket height and head angle.
Your Evil Offering will arrive expertly spec'd with a Shimano 12-speed XT build kit. It features an XT-12-speed rear derailleur, XT shifter, and a 10-51 tooth gear range that has ample climbing gears while not sacrificing top-end speed. Riders will appreciate the excellent stopping power and modulation of the new Shimano XT disc brakes. The Race Face dropper seatpost lets riders easily lift and lower their saddle with just the press of a lever and they never have to dismount the bike. When it comes to tubeless ready rims and tires, the DT-Swiss XM-1501 wheels and Maxxis tires provide an unmatched tubeless interface that lets riders drop their tire pressure for better traction, a smoother ride, and riders will experience fewer flats when running tubeless sealant inside their tires. If you're looking for a super fun, long travel 29er mountain bike, then you'll love the exclusive Evil Offering XT 12-speed build

First this review is really about the Jenson build of the offering. If you don't know this bike you should, I would put it up against any current mid to long travel 29er out there and it does pretty much everything well. Jenson did an amazing Job at putting together a top notch build while keeping the cost under control. It feels like Jenson focused its attention in all the right places. The DTSwiss wheels are great. Fairly light, robust, and with great hubs. The lyrik select on front with 150MM of travel was a great call. I found that one volume spacer at 25% sag worked really well with the rear suspension and this thing just floated over the trail while providing all the energy transfer and pop I could ask for. The XT components are spot on and the new brake levers are spot on. Now for the bad. The Aefect dropper post is meh but serviceable. Its not a deal breaker at all but it will be replaced with a bike yoke once it breaks and Jenson if you are listening I would have paid more to get the 4 piston calipers on this bike. It is so capable and aggressive it really needs them. I would have been willing to pay another $100 to $150 to have them. I see this as a must have upgrade in my book and I will be putting them on ASAP. Lastly just from a point of awereness. The cranks that come on this are 170mm. I was expecting 175 on a bike like this. Not a huge deal but something a potential purchaser should know
Great ride - made me forget my Enduro Carbon Expert
Suspension is smooth and progressive. Bike feels unified front to rear whether on smooth fire roads or the roughest switchies on Vulture ridge and Lichen trails. Climbs better than any Full Suspension bike I have owned didn't use the climb switch once. Feels like it pushes you through corners. Wants to play and change directions vs monster truck everything. Very quiet and composed going down. The wide carbon bar offer more leverage, control and some vibration damping. This bike feels solid Compared to my Enduro I am able to wait longer before engaging a turn because the Offering reacts so much quicker. XT 4 piston brakes offer awesome stopping power. XT 12 speed cassette shifts fast and precise even under load. The 32x45 is a good climbing gear and having a 51 to bail out is a bonus. The build quality and parts spec from Jenson USA are great.
