Grips are important to me. I broke the hamate bone in my left hand about ten years ago, so the wrong grip or the wrong impact sends a jolt of pain through my palm. At the same time, I have always liked the control of thinner grips, and I am pretty weight conscious.
These things strike the right balance of lightweight/smaller diameter with quality firm padding. I have used foam-core grips before that are too soft and you feel the bar, and I have used grips that are too hard--and that defeats the purpose as well. These are the right durometer! And the DSP cover provides excellent grip! They also come in a lot of colors and look fairly cool. The only downside would be that the lighter colors will absorb some of the dye from your gloves over time.
There is an old saying, "Never scrimp on any part that your body touches". I have these on all four of my mountain bikes.
PROS: Comfort, Easy To Install, Lightweight, Durable, Attractive Design
CONS: Don't Stay As Pretty
BEST USES: Mountain Biking, Casual Riding, Upgrade, Racing
Great feel and super easy install. Love the two sided tape install. Grips don't move at all once installed. Just read the directions and spray with plenty of glass cleaner before you slide the new grips on and boom, you're ready to ride!
These are incredibly light and easy to install. I have always used silicone grips in the past but get frustrated how fast they wear. These grips outlast the silicone grips, are lighter and are just as comfortable.
The only thing I dont lilke about this grip (just preference) are the large "Lizrd Skin" logos on 2 sides of the grip.
I was a bit skeptical on these when I purchased my first set since they were very lightweight and thin. However I was very pleasantly surprised and have since bought these for all 3 bikes in my family.
The grip is excellent and they are actually quite comfortable. PROS: Comfortable, lightweight, look good, very grippy CONS: Difficult to remove compared with Lock-on grips
My main concern with these is that they might be impossible to remove with destroying them.
Pretty much as advertised - went on easily and feels good on the hands (I thought it might be too small, but it's fine). I'm not sure how durable they will be - after one crash, I see some divots already out of the end near the plug.
