Our extensive collection of men’s bike helmets covers every style of riding. Whether you’re training for an Ironman, banging elbows in your local criterium, or slaying singletrack in a backwoods enduro, this is the place to find what you’re looking for.
The first job of every good helmet is to protect your head. Every helmet that Jenson USA sells meets U.S. safety standards, which is a good place to start. Some also feature new innovations and technologies such as MIPS (Multi-directional Impact Protection), a system that includes a low-friction layer inside the helmet to reduce rotational forces that occur in certain impacts. We offer MIPS helmets in both road and mountain bike styles.
Beyond pure protection, you probably have some ideas about what you’re looking for in a helmet. Do you ride mainly on the road? Then comfort, weight and ventilation are key factors. Take a look at the vents and how the helmet channels air over your head. You want something that keeps you cool, even on long, hot climbs. Also consider the fit system, which often includes adjustable dials. You want a precise fit that’s easily adjustable and won’t cause any pinching or hot spots.
If you’re racing, aerodynamics matters too. The “aero road” category has come a long way in recent years, and most of these helmets have been developed and tested in a wind-tunnel—so check out some of the data to help you choose. For mountain biking, you might consider some purpose-built features such as an adjustable visor or extended rear coverage for added protection on aggressive terrain. And if enduro riding or racing is your thing, you might look for features like a goggle strap clip or removable chin bar.
We carry a wide selection of men’s bike helmets from top brands like Bell, Giro, Mavic, POC, Smith, Scott and others. Take a look through the options, and feel free to call one of our Gear Advisors at 888-880-3811 if you have any questions.
