ODI Cross Trainer Lock On Grips
ODI Cross Trainer Lock-On Grips have an excellent blend of grip, comfort and stability. Featuring a unique interlaced rib pattern creates a soft feel while still feeling in control. Perfect for either training or racing!
Alternating rib patterns for a soft feel while maintaingin a small diameter
Thicker Criss-Cross pattern provides traction across the grip
Larger ribbed pad can be placed on either side for extra shock absorption where you need it most
This is my third or so set of grips from Odi, and it's obvious they make the best grips out there. I like these grips but I wish they were a tad stiffer. These are pretty soft and squishy which has me wondering about long-term durability.I think the yeti could be my favorite grip of all time.
PROS: Durable, Does Not Slip, Easy To Install, Comfortable
BEST USES: Road Biking, Mountain Biking, BMX, Upgrade
After trying other options, I've found the ODI Cross Trainer Lock-On Grips excellent for cross-country mountain biking. They are solid in all weather conditions. The rubber is soft on the hands yet relatively sturdy, even after heavy use. They are easy to install. And they look good too. Great performance and value for the price point.
I liked these grips for their "cushiness" but I found that the ribbed design just isn't the best for more serious, technical mountain biking. The nature of the ribbed grips causes them to shift one way or ever so slightly under your hand as you relax/tighten your grip, which doesn't feel solid going through rock gardens and berms and such. However, they do offer lots of cushion for people who want a cushy grip for rides that aren't super technical. The rubber compound is very soft and grippy, but I simply don't need this much cushion for the type of mountain biking I do. (Enduro/AM Riding)
Overall quality is top-notch as always with ODI. The clamps make it easy to remove and replace grips and such, and don't budge when tightened down.
Grips are a very personal choice, but for long days riding the build, in the bike park or out shuttling, these are my favourite grips bar none. Great with or without gloves in the dry and still grippy in the mud with gloves. Plus they're a little thicker and more supple, so they take the edge off that trail chetter that makes talons of what once were hands. They are however a little softer than what I'd want for AM or XC riding, but that's just preference.
PROS: Long Lasting, Very Comfortable, Take Edge Off Chatter, Easy to Use Clamps
CONS: Little Soft for XC, Slippery in Mud Gloveless
