PIONEER Cycling

Pioneer is a brand that is likely quite familiar to you, but you may not have known they’ve been making big strides in the bicycling world. Founded in 1938 by Nozomu Matsumoto around crafting beautiful sounding audio products, Pioneer has come a long way since its humble start in a garage. Now, Pioneer has made its way back into the garage, but this time in the form of GPS cycle computers, power meters, and electronic accessories for your bikes.

With its history starting in audio components and progressing into a wide array of electronics, Pioneer has proven that it has the foresight and flexibility to meet new consumer demands and growing markets. While the world of cycling electronics was new territory for Pioneer, they had the resources and know-how to bring top-level performance with their introduction of bike products. A big aspect of why they have been successful in this venture is their large investments into R&D and their history of a commitment to excellence.

Today, riders can find an expansive line of Pioneer power meters, GPS cycling computers, and other accessories to fit their riding styles, personal demands and budget. Pioneer’s first cycling products were power meters that let cyclists monitor and analyze their wattage data to eke out every bit of performance from their rides. You can choose from single or dual leg power meters for a variety of crank manufacturers like Shimano, Campagnolo, and Cannondale.

Recently, Pioneer has broadened its product offering to include cycling GPS computers. If their power meters are the heart of their system, then their touch-sensitive GPS computers are the brains. These sync directly with their power meters to give you both real-time data and post-ride analytics. Their computers bring top-end tech like ANT+ connectivity and wireless Bluetooth capabilities so you can connect a multitude of sensors and they created the industry’s first torque vector measurements that allow you to analyze your pedal stroke for maximum efficiency. Plus, these computers can connect with your favorite training apps like STRAVA, Training Peaks, and Cyclo-Sphere. Add in cool features like map location tracking, turn-by-turn, and highlighted route navigation found on their SGX-CA600 computers, and you have everything and more than you’ll need to ride, experience, and explore the world on two wheels.

Pioneer Cycling continues to improve and innovate the tech side of cycling and we can’t wait to see what else they can dream up to make us faster and more efficient riders whether on the road, mountains, or just focusing on our fitness.
