Rear derailleurs wear out, it’s just a fact of life. Fortunately, we carry a full selection of rear derailleur parts that can breathe new life into this crucial drivetrain component or boost your performance with cleaner, crisper shifting. From replacement pulleys to bolts, springs and other hardware, we have everything you need to ensure precision shifts in all conditions. Our parts selection also includes high-performance upgrade options including ceramic pulleys with sealed cartridge bearings.
Most rear derailleurs share the same basic design, with two pivots (upper and lower) plus a cage and two pulleys that the chain runs through. The upper pivot is connected to the lower pivot by a linkage system. The lower pulley, located at the bottom of the cage, pulls back to create tension in the chain, while the upper pulley guides the chain and moves it across the sprockets when you shift gears. The derailleur is bolted to the frame via a derailleur hanger.
Small parts such as pulleys and bolts can sometimes be compromised from a crash, impact or general wear and tear — but if the rest of the rear derailleur is still functioning properly you don’t always have to replace the entire mechanism. If yours is in need of repair, or you just want to upgrade and improve your shifting performance, check out our full selection of rear derailleur parts. We carry parts from top drivetrain brands such as Shimano, SRAM and Campagnolo, plus aftermarket parts from brands like KCNC, Wolf Tooth and Absolute Black. If you have any questions at all, hop on a call or a chat with one of our expert Gear Advisors today at 888-880-3811 so that we can help you find that perfect item.
