Something as tiny as a little rubber seal can have a large and measurable effect on the ride quality and durability of a suspension component. SKF has developed a wide range of seals with this in mind. They integrate a dust sealing lip to prevent dirt and water from contaminating suspension fluid with an oil sealing lip to prevent oil from escaping the fork. Together you get a fork that will perform better and continue to deliver that performance over a longer period of time.

The ol (2010 888 RC3 Ti Evo) was feeling a little underwhelming so it was time to give it a little love. Seals went in easily (PRO TIP: Place your seals in the freezer 30 minutes prior to install, they almost fall into place) I didn't have the proper seal driver, but I found a shop van hose extension with the proper outer diameter and it worked perfectly, only needed 1 whack with the rubber mallet. I removed the old foam rings & in their place used copious amounts of slickoleum grease. Instead of Golden Spectro 125/150 the marz stock oil I used Motorex 7.5 with 3D response. Push Industries says it's the best oil on the market. I did have an issue removing and installing the cart side foot nut, the cartridge would spin. Found a metric screw with the same size head as the brass rod that was protruding from the foot nut, grabbed that with a small vice grip & it held everything in place while I loosened the foot nut, did the same for install. Just be gentle. Heading out tomorrow for a test ride at Stevens, assuming it will be awesome. If it's not I'll let you know! Oh, for a 2010 the top caps are 26mm, and the small detent ball for the Volume Adjust is in the side of the top cap, don't loose that or the spring. To reinstall the VA top cap, place spring with grease on the end to keep the ball in place, press in with the side of an allen key & slide the knob over it. Use grease to hold all the other detent balls in place when installing the knobs. Dont lose em!
